At the Southern edge of the Gulf of Mexico is the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. At the Southern end of the Yucatan, across the Rio Hondo is the nation of Belize.
Where is Belize?

Formerly British Honduras, Belize is the first country south of Mexico's Yucatan and the only English speaking country South of the Rio Grande. Belize is bordered on the North by the Mexican State of Quintana Roo, on the West and South by Guatemala and on the East by the Caribbean Sea.
Where is Consejo?
Consejo, Belize and Chetumal Mexico
The Rio Hondo defines the border between Belize and Mexico. South of the Rio Hondo is the Corozal District of Belize.
Chetumal is the capital city of the Mexican State of Quintana Roo. A 15 minute boat ride across the Bay of Chetumal is the village of Consejo, Belize. Travel a little South from Consejo, and you find Consejo Shores.

Consejo Shores and Consejo Village
Consejo Village is the Northern most settlement in Belize. Consejo Shores is a mostly expatriate community just to the South of Consejo Village. To reach Smugglers Den, Wagner's Landing and Maya Seaside you take the first road to the right after leaving Consejo Village.

Corozal Town (pop. 8,600)
If you are driving from Belize City, take the Northern Highway, and follow the signs to Corozal Town. You leave the Northern Highway at the edge of Corozal Town, staying on the shore line until you reach the new Mirador Hotel. Keep to the left, continue past the Town Square and the Sports Facility then follow on Consejo Road north for about 7 miles to reach Consejo Shores and Consejo Village.
